Men still make more than women

So, the highest paid female exec was paid $26.1 million in 2005. How does that compare to male executives? Here are the five highest paid male execs:

1. Eugene M. Isenberg, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Nabors Industries - $71.4 million in 2005
2. Ray R. Irani, Chairman, President, and CEO of Occidental Petroleum - $70 million in 2005
3. Lew Frankfort, Chairman and CEO of Coach - $62.3 million in 2005
4. Barry Diller, Chairman, Director, and CEO of InterActiveCorp - $61.5 million in 2005
5. Scott A. McGregor, President, Director, and CEO of Broadcom - $57.4 million in 2005

Doesn’t seem quite fair, does it?

Southwest Airlines profits up

Southwest Airlines announced that its 1st Quarter profits are up by 50%. I’m not surprised - they have affordable fares and all of the times I have flown Southwest have been positive. Not only did the flights depart and arrive on time, but the flight attendants all had a great manner and sense of humor. One woman actually rapped all the safety information!

Women not good at protecting their financial security

Women have to work hard for their money, right? Sometimes even harder than their male counterparts. A recent study shows that women are less likely to take steps to ensure their financial stability. Don’t let that be the case for you. Hire a financial planner, make sure you are investing for your retirement, make sure you have the insurance you need.

Wii is good to Nintendo

Well, the Nintendo Wii gaming system has boosted Nintendo’s profits quite a lot. 77 percent to be exact. They don’t need to worry about being able to compete with Sony and Microsoft in the gaming market anymore. Anyone tried a Wii? My kids want one, but I haven’t caved yet.
